Barriers for screed / floors

CaFloor DIBA is a vapour-retardant moisture barrier, specifically developed for damp locations such as bathrooms and showers. The multi-layer special strip consists of a double-sided mat-coated polymeric functional and waterproof layer. With a good bond to cement-based thin bed mortar and liquid compound sealants, CaFloor DIBA is well suited for fast and reliable sealing. It regulates the uncontrolled entry of moisture into the construction. With a thick fleece fitted to both sides CaFloor DIBA is protected from the roughness of the substrate. In addition, the non-woven substrate offers an optimum surface for subsequent tiling. It is also certified and tested as a radon barrier.

Laying method

The surface must be clean, dry and free from grease, oil or other separating agents. It must also be solid, stable and as even as possible. In order to bond CaFloor DIBA, a thin flexible bed of mortar is applied to the surface with a 4 mm toothed trowel. The strip is laid on the surface and the entire surface is pressed down using a burnishing tool or a smooth roller. The places where the strips meet should overlap by at least 5 cm. After this they should be sealed with commercially available sealant. Penetrations and connections can be sealed using CaFix Seal.
